Virus removal from aqueous environments with polyelectrolyte coatings on a polypropylene fleece

چکیده
The adsorption of viruses from aqueous solution is frequently performed to detect viruses. Charged filtration materials capture via electrostatic interactions, but lack the specificity biological virus-binding substances like heparin. Herein, we present three methods immobilize heparin-mimicking, polymers a filter material. Two mussel-inspired approaches are used, based on dopamine or dendritic polyglycerol, and post-functionalized with block-copolymer consisting linear polyglycerol sulfate amino groups as anchor (lPGS-b-NH2). As third method, polymer coating lPGS benzophenone tested (lPGS-b-BPh). All yield dense stable coatings. A positively charged dye serves tool quantitatively analyze content coated fleece. Especially lPGS-b-BPh shown be brush about 0.1 chains per nm2. Proteins adsorb depending their charge, for lysozyme human serum albumin. Finally, herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) can removed upon incubation fleece by 90% 45%, respectively. In summary, presented techniques may useful collect environments.
